Abrasive grease sticks that is available for universal use. The regular type polishing wheel grease sticks are purposely made of high melting point greases, but abrasive belts run so cool that these types of greases have a tendency to form a gummy surface referred to as “loading” or “glazing”. The use of grease stick on belts and discs prevents this. It is a light bodied grease that spreads out thinly and remains “wet” on the belt, providing lubrication by penetrating the coated abrasive surface. This prevents clogging and leaves the abrasive grit free to cut clean and smooth. Recommended for all belt-polishing operations on all metals, plastics, and glass.
This Abrasive Grease Stick was specially formulated to improve cutting ability of sanding discs and sanding belts while simultaneously extending their useful life. The use of grease stick on belts and discs reduces heat and prevents “gumming” or “loading”. It is a light bodied grease that spreads out thinly and remains “wet” on the belt, providing lubrication by penetrating the coated abrasive surface. This prevents clogging and leaves the abrasive grit free to cut clean and smooth. This grease is designed to be applied to grits 24-120 when doing stock removal and rough grinding. You may apply the belt grease with the first use of the belt and keep re-applying when it seems the belt has dulled down. The belt grease has abrasive grains which provide extra cutting and the tallow base prevents excessive heat buildup. This grease tube is recommended for all belt-sanding operations on metals, plastics, and glass. This formula is particularly popular for knife makers!
